When we launched our 20th anniversary celebrations it did not take long to decide that Water Aid would be our charity of choice.

Water is central to our business, as a charity that supports those unable to meet their water bills.  The work we do helps people turn their lives around by helping them manage their money and deal with household bills when they are unable to cope.

Water Aid also changes people lives and has been working for more than 30 years to bring much needed water, sanitation and hygiene education to where it is needed most.

Clean drinking water, proper toilets and good hygiene are all things that we take for granted in our daily lives, yet millions of people don’t have access to these basic services.

Across the world, women are forced to waste precious time walking long distances to collect dirty water. Girls are dropping out of school because there are no private toilets, and young children are not surviving to see their fifth birthday because of preventable diseases.

The statistics reveal the extent of this crisis:

  • 663 million people live without clean water
  • 4 billion people don’t have access to adequate sanitation, one in three of the world’s population
  • 289,000 children under 5 die each year due to diarrhoea related diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. That’s 800 a day, or 1 child every 2 minutes

We are delighted that our 20th anniversary celebrations will generate funds for Water Aid and help to make a difference to people’s lives all over the world.
