Well done to Julie Elliott who took part in the Birmingham Memory Walk with the Alzheimer’s Society last weekend. The Memory Walk takes place at various venues across the UK, involving thousands of people raising money for a world without dementia.
For Julie her 5K walk was a personal journey as her dad was recently diagnosed with mixed dementia – both Alzheimer’s and Vascular dementia and there are two other members of her close family who also have dementia.
“It was great to have the opportunity to walk with others for this worthy cause,” says Julie. “The Memory Walk helps to fund the good work that the Alzheimer’s Society do to help people suffering with this horrible disease.”
There are still more than twenty Memory Walks taking place across the UK this autumn, distances vary from 2K- 8K, visit www.memorywalk.org.uk to find out more.
